Netbook testing
Changing tack somewhat, we're also evaluating the usefulness of the Kingston 40GB SSD as an 'accelerator' in a netbook environment.After taking out the mechanical hard drive out of the MSI Wind U100+, we replace it with the Kingston SSD and, later, with a Samsung 160GB, 7,200rpm, 2.5in SATA drive.
A retail copy of Windows 7 Home Premium is loaded, which takes up 6.75GB, leaving plenty of room for applications.
After running the benchmarks an exact copy is then loaded on to the Samsung drive.
