CPU and Gaming Tests
The pragmatic truth is that, even when comparing DDR4-3,600 to DDR4-2,400, real-world benefits are not that great... and that's with a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU providing the gaming grunt.
A quick word on overclocking. We managed to increase the modules' speed to 3,866MHz at the same timings. Adding an additional 0.1V didn't result in higher performance, mind.
You need to ask yourself whether paying a reasonable premium over DDR4-2,400 RAM is worth it. At the time of writing, a 32GB kit of Vengeance Pro RGB operating at 2,666MHz CL16 (the slowest speed) is offered at $360, compared with $460 for this kit that chimes in with DDR4-3,600 CL18 speeds and timings.
