Performance III
Even though an overclocked Core i7-6700K has plenty of cache, performance at 1080p does go up by a few per cent, even when set to ultra quality on a GeForce GTX 1080. What this means is that those of you who like high framerates and have 120Hz-plus monitors would be best served by looking at DDR4-3,000 memory - it usually has only a small price premium over DDR4-2,400.
However, putting the onus on the GPU by shifting to QHD translates to practically no difference between the kits.
