Accessories and packaging

Foxconn's retail packaging doesn't seem to clearly differentiate between the G33M-S and the standard G33M, so be careful when buying - there's just a small sticker on the flap of the box that confirms the spec. The G33M omits support for FireWire and uses the standard ICH9, not ICH9R, so lacks AHCI and RAID functionality.

Items Quick install guide (12 languages including English)
Drivers and utilities CD containing (drivers for motherboard devices, Foxconn FOX ONE Utility, Foxconn Fox Liveupdate and Norton Internet Security 2006 - 90-day trial).
1 x 80-conductor flat IDE cable, 1 x non-latching-style SATA data cable with right-angled connector, 1 x Molex-SATA power adapter cable (single output)
ATX I/O shield
FireWire expansion bracket with one six-pin 1394a port.

Foxconn's bundle doesn't exactly lay things on thick. A single SATA cable, one Molex-to-SATA adaptor, a FireWire bracket and an IDE cable are just about your lot.

Given that the current asking price of the lower-spec G33M is a not-especially-cheap Ā£65, we'd have thought Foxconn could at least have included a few extra SATA cables with the higher-priced G33M-S.

Warranty

Foxconn provides a three-year warranty that is handled through the retailer - or the distributor if necessary - and starts on the day the board ships to the distributor, not when the end-user buys it.

The warranty can be transferred between users, as long as the original proof of purchase is retained - a bonus for anyone looking to buy a Foxconn board second-hand.
