Thinking about it logically, there should be little performance difference between AGP and PCI-Express graphics cards based on identical models, so it will be interesting to see how an AGP-equipped GeForce 6800 GT on the Gigabyte board compares with a PCIe version on the DFI Alderwood.

The answer is almost identically. A breakdown of the Gigabyte' scores can be found here. 3.6GHz of Pentium 4 Prescott power is still well over 3,000 marks behind the result from an Athlon 64 3800+. It's also worrying that a supposedly slower 3.4GHz Northwood/i875P combination is around 500 marks ahead.

Prescotts, for some reason, have never done well in Comanche 4. This continues to be the case here.

It's all very close between 3 Pentium 4s, but they're some way off Athlon 64 pace.

Our low-detail UT2003 paints another vivid difference. Once again, a 3.4GHz Northwood is faster than either 3.6GHz LGA755 setups.
