Both ASUS and MSI combinations fall down a touch here. The performance delta that exists between a S940 FX-53 and a S939 Model 3800+ can be explained away via the 3800+ sporting half the FX-53's L2 cache.



Levels of cache matter less in Realstorm's raytracing benchmark. Tighter memory latencies and unbuffered RAM eke out a repeatable advantage of S940. ASUS board has continued to be at least as fast as MSI's



Media encoding, too, is pretty sharp.



High CPU utilisation rates are a feature of VIA chipsets. The overall STR graph is just what we'd expect from a 36GB Raptor.
