Gaming performance and overclocking

It's pretty much the same story in the gaming tests, with the Foxconn P965 a match for the abit i975X AW9D-MAX but a touch slower than the AB9 Pro.

The graph highlights the AB9 Pro is faster but you absolutely wouldn't be able to visually discern the difference in performance. No, sir.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory produces general equality between the boards.

Performance summary

The Foxconn P9657AA-8EKRS2H is a competent mainboard that's indicative of general Intel P965 chipset performance.

Overclocking

Tinkering about in the BIOS, we managed a rock-solid 360MHz FSB speed with memory running synchronously. Standard air cooling was used and the figure is, again, generally indicative of the P965 chipset's potential. Not quite as high as the abit AB9 Pro's 375MHz and significantly lower than the AW9D Max's 486MHz but satisfactory nonetheless.
