Benchmarks: Power Draw and Battery Life
We were worried about the GL552VW's paltry 48Wh battery, but Asus has done a decent job of optimising its laptop for longevity. In our battery-rundown test, which entails looping a high-definition movie clip with 50 per cent screen brightness and all wireless radios disabled, the RoG machine managed to keep going for almost a full six hours.
That sort of time frame isn't anything to write home about, yet we're pleasantly surprised to see a small four-cell battery eke out 358 minutes from a Core i7-6700HQ laptop.
