Benchmarks: Vitals and Battery Life
Performance is strong and battery life is pretty decent, too. To test real-world runtime we loop a high-definition movie clip with 50 per cent screen brightness and flight mode enabled, and in this scenario Lafité II was able to keep going for just over seven-and-a-half hours.
A reasonably healthy return for a Core i7 chip, though there is one rather large stipulation in that the battery seems to take an age to recharge. Our review sample was plugged in just before 9am this morning, and now, after 3pm, it's still only at 89 per cent. That's awfully slow, particularly in contrast to the ThinkPad, whose 'rapid charge' technology gets battery life back to 85 per cent in around 30 minutes.
