Benchmarks: System and Gaming
Overall system performance, as measured using PCMark 8, is very impressive for a £999 system.
But it's the graphics department in which the Vortex GT shows its true strength. The laptop costs £150 less than MSI's GS60 2PC Ghost, yet offers a near-50-per-cent increase in graphics performance. Over 50 frames per second in our default Aliens vs. Predator benchmark is a very healthy return and it suggests high-end gaming potential.

Digging deeper into the laptop's GPU credentials, we've run a trio of games with varying degrees of image quality at a native 1080p resolution. The results show that playable framerates can be maintained with high or even maximum quality settings. Overall performance is not too dissimilar to a desktop GeForce GTX 660.
