Here we come to CPU-intensive tasks. Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition is set to auto-fix 25 Canon EOS350D-taken images (~4MB each). The total time taken, in seconds, is displayed above.

The Turion Ultra ZM-80 in the HP slightly slower processor in the Dell 690G, yet both fall considerably behind the Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P8400 processor in the Novtech model.

Why do we mention this in relation to a tablet PC? Because it still needs to be a general workhorse that can handle everyday tasks.

The HP's performance slips comfortably into second place, helped by a faster-than-Dell processor. However, for processor-intensive tasks, and there are many, an equivalently clocked Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo would be a better bet.
