3DMark is the latest version of this hugely-popular synthetic benchmark. Making use of DX11 features such as tessellation, compute shaders and multi-threading, it provides modern-day results and is available as a free download.
This is the first page most of you will likely have landed. 2,560 Maxwell-like shaders running at over 1.7GHz, reinforced by some tasty memory, lead to the highest single-GPU scores we've ever seen.
GTX 1080 is about 60 per cent faster than GTX 980 and AMD's best current GPU, the Fury X.
