The XT's ~11% advantage in clock speed, compared to the PRO, is shown in ShaderMark 2.0. All but one of the tests in the suite scale to that rough clock speed advantage. In the anomalous test, the PRO's 256MB of memory seems to help it win out. In terms of comparison to 6600 GT, the NVIDIA board generally has more shader power, as measured by ShaderMark 2.0. The newer driver does nothing for the XT's performance in this test.
