6800 Ultra is more than twice as fast as 6600 GT at the upper setting, the 6600 GT beginning to feel the pinch of its memory bus width in terms of limiting performance. It's a DX8 test so raw shader performance doesn't matter, rather you're limited in your texturing and raw fillrate performance instead. R360, the GPU behind Radeon 9800 XT, would be usefully faster in this test, compared to 6600 GT.

At the median setting, the first to lose any CPU limitation, the 6600 GT hits its 60% performance delta compared to 6800 Ultra. We're pixelshader limited in 03 so the smart money was on that being the case, before any tests were run. ROP count doesn't limit performance here. At the upper setting, the memory bus width constricts performance somewhat. Performance is usefully faster than the NV35 board at the lower and median settings.
