We're CPU limited initially but at the median setting, the 6600 GT's performance drops off that of the big two NV40 boards, boards that remain CPU limited even with a 3400MHz Extreme Edition. At the upper setting it looks like a driver bug, most likely in the setup of the memory controller, causes performance to take a giant nosedive. Something for the driver developers to take a look at. When fixed, the 6600 GT has enough potential performance to sit close to that 60% of 6800 Ultra limit we've seen already.

That rough 60% difference is evident in our second OpenGL-based test, Serious Sam: The Second Encounter. Memory bandwidth limitations allow the 256-bit NV35 board to creep up close at the upper setting.
