Far Cry

If OpenGL is better for NVIDIA's cards, D3D is generally considered ATI's domain. Crucial's X800 PRO comes close to matching the 6800 Ultra's performance at the middle setting. At the highest setting, though, a lack of pixel-pushing and bandwidth power begins to tell.

Painkiller

Vendor: People Can Fly - (Website)
API: DX9.0
Pixel Shader Version Supported: Mix, unknown versions

Painkiller

The Painkiller flyby test is smooth on each card. There's little to choose between them on the above graph and the performance, visually-speaking, is impossible to distinguish. Again, the X800 PRO is very, very close to NVIDIA's 6800 GT's performance. It seems as if both companies' high-end cards are evenly matched in Painkiller.
