Overclocking
Given that Gigabyte's card boosts to 1,506MHz right out of the box, there isn't a great deal of additional headroom to play with. We were able to apply a 59MHz overclock, but going any higher without extra voltage proved problematic.
Worth noting that while the overclocked boost frequency is listed as 1,363MHz, the card actually ran at 1,565MHz during our benchmarks as a result of Gigabyte's flagrant boost profile. Memory, meanwhile, ramped-up to an effective 8,000MHz.
Without introducing extra voltage or exotic cooling methods, this is about as quick as the GeForce GTX 960 is going to get.
