1080p - Crysis 3

Homepage: crysis.com/crysis-3 | Publisher: Electronic Arts | Developer: Crytek

Crysis 3 is a beautiful-looking game that continues to tax high-end systems. We've benchmarked a 60-second section near the start of the game, with lashing rain, numerous reflections and full DX11 pomp on show.

Different games pose different challenges, and few are as arduous as Crysis 3. EVGA's GTX 970 FTW puts in another very solid showing, but for anyone hoping for a generational leap in performance, you may be disappointed to learn that we haven't yet reached a smooth 60 frames per second in this famed can-you-run-it title.

Analysing each and every frame further highlights the demand that Crysis is placing on the GPUs: the GTX 970 FTW struggles to render one per cent of all frames within 17ms.

As you'd expect, the aforementioned struggle translates to slower frames than desired. Dual GPUs are still the way to go if you want a super-smooth experience in this game.
