3DMark 2003
3DMark 2003 is optimised for the more feature rich and faster cards. Higher specifications of shading ability allow the Radeons to run all the tests. The GeForce4 Ti line cannot run the final Mother Nature test, owing to the test requiring both v2.0 pixel and vertex shading ability.
The XFX is further hampered in 3DMark 2003 by having to use Pixel Shader v1.1, which forces the card to use multi-pass rendering. PS 1.4, though, would allow the card to complete certain shading in a single rendering pass. That also helps to explain the relatively poor scores.
3DMark 2003 is geared towards the very latest cards, as you can plainly see.
