UT2003 2x AA, 4x AF
A closer examination of UT2003, but this time with image enhancement applied. Firstly, we'll test all resolutions with 2x FSAA and 4-tap anisotropic filtering applied. Better, clearer images at the cost of performance, but what performance penalty do we incur ?.
Remember that all cards scored ~ 200 FPS at 1024x768x32 with standard image quality. Adding quality to mix begins to separate the cards quickly.
The FX takes a chunk out of the Radeon 9700 Pro and the 9800 Pro repays the complement to the FX. The 9700 Pro seems unusually slow here. ATi's assertion of more efficient performance with AA and AF applied begins to make a little sense, even with a faster core and memory speed.
The FX is becoming a little bandwidth starved, so theĀ 9700 Pro begins to catch up. The 9800 Pro, just pushes home its advantage.
