So, how does the All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro fare as a complete solution. Well, in terms of functionality, the card will all its bells and whistles proved fantastic.
Everything a user would need to perform a whole host of multimedia and video is supplied, and extras such as the remote control only improve my impressions of the package.
Currently, there is nothing on the market that comes close to the All-In-Wonder series for it's ease of use and functionality, and the All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro carries on this award winning trend.
Although the card doesn't break any records in terms of 3d performance, at a resolution of 1024x768, the card performs admirably, both in simple games and the latest games and benchmarks utilising the integrated DirectX 8.1 Hardware.
However, it's hard to ignore the value graphics core integrated into this solution and its concurrent limited bandwidth. Resolutions above 1024x768 result in the card struggling to keep afloat, and higher resolutions and features such as Anti-aliasing are admittingly out of bounds for this solution.
The cards performance should mirror that of a standard Radeon 9000 Pro 64MB based graphics card seeing as though they have the same hardware, clock speeds and memory speeds. These can be had now for as little as £60 if you shop around, considering the performance we have seen in this review, and considering it has full DirextX8.1, £60 for such a solution is undoubtedly fantastic value for money.
However, this is an All-In-Wonder version, and with that tag comes additional price. The question must be asked, how much are you willing to pay for the extra multimedia features?
If you are looking for 3d performance first and multimedia extras, there may be better solutions available. GeForce4 Ti4200 cards can be had for around £100 these days, and with the addition of a cheap TV card, you could get some similar features as this product with much better 3d performance, and average multimedia.
According to ATI, there may be differences between All-In-Wonder retail products, based on what manufacturers choose to include, such as software bundle, inclusion of remote wonder and printed manual.
ATI will distribute the card in America and Canada, and will be offered in Europe via Hercules/Guillemot, Sapphire, Gigabyte, Connect3D, ColorPower and HIS.
If the price upon release is right, which will hopefully drop somewhat once the card hits retail, and 3d performance is not your top priority, I can whole heartedly recommend this solution.
The ATI All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro performs exactly as advertised, and is simply the best all-in-one TV, Multimedia and Capture solution for the home PC in the budget market segment, without doubt.
