Benchmarks - Crysis 2
Review: HEXUS.net/qa5cd | Where2buy: amazon.co.uk |
Crysis 2 may not have lived up to the expectations set by its predecessor, but with the DX11 patch and high-res textures, it's a gorgeous-looking game.
Average fps performance
Matching the performance of a regular GTX 680 - a fact that's become a common theme - the ASUS TOP zooms through the 1,920x1,080 setting but, like everything apart from the GTX 690, doesn't do so well at the 2,560x1,600 test.
Per-second performance
Average framerates tell us the 670 TOP is around 10 per cent faster than the GTX 560 TOP SLI. The per-second graph underscores these results.

Almost all of the GTX 670 TOP's frame times are located between 20ms and 33ms. This means the game's generally playable at the chosen settings. The 95th percentile is at 33.56ms, intimating, in a roundabout way, that only five per cent of frames take longer to render than an 'average' 30fps.
GTX 560 TOP SLI, on the other hand, has a few performance spikes that give it quick, low-latency frames. But, and it's vitally important for smooth gameplay, almost seven per cent of the frames take longer than 40ms. This tells us that game will feel, at times, choppy to play, and we can confirm this with a proper play-through. For those interested, the 95th percentile is at 40.6ms. A single GTX 670 TOP is a better bet if high resolution, high eye candy is your kind of gaming.
