The standalone Aliens vs. Predator benchmark uses DX11 features such as hardware tessellation and advanced shadow sampling to draw and animate everyone's favourite xenomorph.
If we compare prices and not family-to-family scores, the £130 HD 6870 is around 50 percent faster than the HD 7770. Meanwhile, Gigabyte's GTX 550 Ti, albeit overclocked, beats out the HD 7750.
We'd not feel comfortable at full-HD, 1080p gaming on either new release, even with the medium-quality settings used here.
