Benchmarks - Batman: Arkham City

Review: HEXUS.net/qa7so | Where2buy: amazon.co.uk

Batman: Arkham City is a class above many games in the action-adventure genre, marrying gorgeous graphics and strong level design with potent storytelling and a kick-ass selection of gadgets and moves. It looks great in DX11, too.

But AMD's move to GCN from VLIW GPU architectures means it's not easy to predict gaming performance: it varies by how much the title can use the extra tessellation muscle and other niceties of the HD 7000-series design.

Things look up in Batman: Arkham City, where the HD 7770 outpaces the GeForce GTX 560. The 7750 minnow jumps ahead of GTX 550 Ti. These high-quality settings are pretty smooth at a 1,920x1,080 resolution, too.
