Multi-threaded tests - media processing
Dual cores running at 3.73GHz and Hyper-Threading support are enough to give the Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 965 top spot in our first media-encoding test. Note the 42-second performance benefit over the single-core 3.73GHz Extreme model. That's the benefit of running dual cores with applications written to take advantage of them.
Another win, albeit a slight one, when evaluating the time taken to convert 416MB of DV footage into high-quality DivX AVI. That's a clean sweep for the '965 here.
