Akasa Evo 120 V2 - Introduction and Packaging

Introduction

When Akasa's original Evo 120 came out, there were concerns about it from the knowledgeable. These ranged from its cooling efficiency through to a flawed mounting mechanism. Seemingly, this was a product destined to fail.

Sales-wise, though, it did fairly well in the enthusiast market. Its funky appearance (at the time) and slick colour scheme appealed to buyers and it sprang up on web sites and on retail shelves, with Maplin and PC World two merchants of note.

Packaging

The packaging on our review sample is not something we can really report on, since it was actually the same packaging as used for the original V1 model. Akasa assured us, though, that the Evo 120 we were sent was actually a V2, it's just that the new packaging wasn't ready in time.
