Benchmarks III

3DMark 2001SE is a reasonable indicator of potential performance in today's DX8-baesd games. A score of over 5000 at the test resolution usually translates to playable framerates. Let's see how our protagonists do.

The pleasing aspect is that we gain around 1400 marks simply by raising the overall CPU and memory speeds. The XP is firmly sandwiched in the middle. I've also included the compare graph so you can see where the gains are made. The car and lobby tests seem to be most sensitive to changes in CPU and/or memory speeds. Remember, best image quality was used.

On to games-based benchmarks now.
