As Finn mentioned, Microsoft has got a bunch of politicians, bureaucrats and trans-national coppers involved in the big day. It has also created a website to help partners and customers identify what's dodgy and what's not.

"To that end, Microsoft and INTERPOL are now cooperating with police and customs agencies around the world to use all available intelligence to ensure that our joint investigations lead to arrests and convictions of criminal counterfeiters."
There has been rapid growth in the number of "Worldwide Days" over the past few years and this might serve to dilute Microsoft's message this time. It may also face opposition from another prominent "Day", which could misinterpret Microsoft's message:
