In preparation for tomorrow's iPhone 3G launch, Apple has today made available version 7.7 of its entertainment powerhouse, iTunes.
iTunes 7.7 will be a requirement for the iPhone 3G and introduces one key new component: Apple's App Store, allowing for users to download games and applications to an iPhone or iPod touch device.
The App Store is expected to open later today, with more than 500 applications available from the get-go. 25 per cent of those apps are said to be completely free of charge.
iTunes 7.7 is available via Apple Software Update or as a standalone package from the official iTunes website.
