The votes are in...
Right now, 1,031 users have taken part in the recent HEXUS poll and it's time to take a look at the results. Having started a little over a week ago, the poll asked "A year after launch - How much would you pay to Upgrade from Vista to XP?" and provided the following answers to choose from:
- Nothing - Vista Rocks!
- £25 Vista ain't that bad...
- £50 UAC is driving me insane....
- £100 - Get me off Vista now!
- I'm not silly enough to have run it first time round...
At present, the 1,031 votes make for some interesting reading and here's a simple little pie chart to show you how our readers feel about Windows Vista:
The largest piece of the pie tells quite the story, 52% of all voters claim themselves not silly enough to run Windows Vista, while a further 17% would actually pay between £25 and £100 to go back to Windows XP. All is not lost for Microsoft however as 31% do indeed declare that Vista rocks. Quite worryingly, 7% of our users are so disgruntled by Windows Vista, they'd be willing to pay £100 to make "the WoW stop now".
With just over one thousand votes and rising, this small sample isn't quite conclusive in terms of the millions of Vista users. The fact that the majority of HEXUS readers are young males working in IT however definitely tells us something about Vista's current appeal, or lack of rather.
