More CrossFire control and a new release for Linux.

It's month seven of year '06, so ATI's released version 6.7 of its Catalyst driver suite. The 35MB (minus .net) download introduces extra control of CrossFire for users who desire it, along with fixes for Oblivion and Quake 4. The full list of fixes and issues can be found in the release notes.

Setting the Catalyst AI slider to advanced in the control centre, users can force the use of alternate frame rendering in applications, except for those with which known AFR issues exist.

This month also sees Linux 8.27.10 drivers released. X.org 7.1 is supported through the installer. Fedora Core packages are supported too and so can be generated. However, TV-out isn't supported on X1x00 cards, although there are some resolved issues described in the release notes. More info can be found on the relevant pages.

For XP users (32- and 64-bit), head over to the ATI Knowledge base to grab the new drivers.

I keep being told (when I visit the ATI site) that it is an unauthorized download.

I think they've got some silly anti-leech software running, which keeps killing the download at about 50% for me.. Seems a little pointless given that the ati website is going to be the primary download point..

Just give us an ftp link guys ;)
I managed to download it earlier…. Hmm…
worked fine for me too, x86 and x64 versions.
Must say i have never had that happen when i download drivers from ati uk, odd to say the least.
