Our tests found that BFG's GTX 280 managed a reasonable temperature of 47°C when idle and 74°C under load. If you just have to have cooler, though, there's a supply of water-cooled alternatives cropping up from the usual suspects.
First up is BFG's GeForce GTX 280 H2OC, the latest card to feature its "ThermoIntelligence Water Cooling Solution". The single-slot card raises core, shader and memory clocks to 680MHz, 1458MHz and 2450MHz, respectively.
There's no details on availability or pricing just yet, but BFG's GeForce GTX 280 H2OC comes with a lifetime warranty and claims to be the fastest factory-overclocked GTX 280 available.
If pre-assembled cards are too easy for you, and you prefer to do things your own way, you'll be pleased to hear that CoolIT Systems has announced its Dual Drive Bay VGA liquid cooling solution for the GTX 280.
The cooler, pictured above, supports the GTX 280 in single card or SLI setup. It'll be available soon as a standalone product from CoolITSystems.com.
