PRESS RELEASE
The datAshur Personal² offers rapid transfer speeds while maintaining full disk encryption to ensure confidential data, photos and videos are always safe
iStorage, the trusted global leader of PIN authenticated, hardware encrypted data storage devices, have launched a new USB 3.0 flash drive for individuals concerned about keeping their personal information safe. The datAshur Personal² has been designed with innovative technology for rapid transfer speeds as well as advanced levels of encryption. With current headlines filled with news of large scale data hack and personal details being openly shared, it is becoming increasingly more critical for individuals to keep personal data, just that, personal.
The datAshur Personal² includes an on-board keypad for authentication. The drive can only be unlocked by entering a personal 7-15 digit PIN code before connecting to a USB port. All data transferred to the device is automatically hardware encrypted to military standards, to ensure all data is safe and secure in the event the drive is lost, stolen or tampered with. As soon as the datAshur Personal² is unplugged from the computer or when power to the USB port is turned off, the device auto locks keeping the information secure.
“Encryption isn’t just for the tech-savvy. Personal data such as financial documents, passwords and family photographs are precious and consumers should be as aware as businesses when it comes to keeping data safe,” states John Michael, CEO of iStorage. “A recent survey carried out by ESET found that over 22,000 USB flash drives are left at UK dry cleaners each year but only 53 percent are returned to their owners. Loss and theft of USB flash drives can lead to serious consequences such as identity fraud, especially if the drive contains sensitive and confidential data. It has become an expectation for businesses to protect data and it is imperative that consumers take the same approach in regards to their personal information.”
The datAshur Personal² USB 3.0 drive has been designed to be 10 times faster than its predecessor, the datAshur Personal, with data transfer rates of up to 116MB/s read and 43 MB/s write. The device is available in 8GB, 16GB, 32Gb & 64GB capacities, and boasts widespread compatibility with all operating systems to include Windows, Mac, Linux and Android systems. The datAshur Personal²doesn’t require any software, so works right out of the box on laptops, printers, tablets, CCTV systems, medical equipment, Citrix Thin Clients and smartphones. It’s never been easier to carry data so securely between home, office or school.
John Michael continues, “Making data security easily accessible to all is our key aim, therefore providing consumers with a product that offers a high level of protection at an affordable price is essential. The new datAshur Personal² is our fastest consumer-focused product yet with superfast USB 3.0 speed whilst maintaining real time XTS-AES 256-bit full disk encryption. All of this means the datAshur Personal² is ideally positioned to secure data from unauthorised access, even if lost or stolen.”
The datAshur Personal² will be available from iStorage during November and can be purchased from major online retailers as well as from the iStorage website. The datAshur Personal² also comes with three years’ warranty and has been FIPS PUB 197 certified, an advanced encryption standard of testing certified by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), to ensure all data stored on the drive is using government accredited military grade encryption algorithms.
