PRESS RELEASE
High-Performance Arrays with 5TB and 11TB Usable Capacity Options
"With these two new Fibre Channel flash storage arrays, I'm delighted to say that we're now able to offer a full product range that supports all the key connectivity technologies that our customers are asking for: 10GbE, InfiniBand, and Fibre Channel," said Dr. Charles Tsai, President of AccelStor. "There's also significant demand now for SSD storage arrays that deliver high performance and great capacity, but are also compact and allow more space for future expansion, particularly for upgrade scenarios. These new arrays address that demand head-on."
The Fibre Channel interfaces ensure low latency for Storage Area Networks. Dual-port 16G Fibre Channel, and backward compatibility with 8G, makes these arrays easy to integrate into existing SANs for applications such as banking and media production. Multipathing features allow connection redundancy for I/O balance, fail-over, and seamless fault recovery. These features boost IT staff productivity and make deployment easier.
The NeoSapphire 3611's dedicated all-flash hardware design makes it an extremely compact and dense storage solution, with 20 trays of SSDs in a single rack unit. It offers a substantial saving of rack space, compared to traditional arrays and competing products, and allows extra room for future expansion, making it a perfect choice when upgrading from traditional storage devices. The NeoSapphire 3605 offers 10 trays of SSDs in 1U rack space.
Deploying an AccelStor NeoSapphire 3605 or NeoSapphire 3611 all-flash array can instantly provide transfer speeds up to 3 times faster than traditional mechanical hard disk drives. As for random I/O processing, sustained performance of 360K IOPS helps resolve the storage bottlenecks that often hamstring operations such as server virtualization and database traversal.
NeoSapphire series are equipped with AccelStor's exclusive FlexiRemap software-defined flash technology. Designed for sustained performance and reliability even in the random-access scenarios typical of enterprise storage needs, FlexiRemap software technology remaps random data writes as sequential ones whenever it is beneficial, before passing them to the underlying SSDs. FlexiRemap avoids unnecessary overheads and extends SSD lifespan by greatly reducing the number of write/erase cycles. Thanks to the global wear-leveling algorithm, these arrays have at least twice the longevity of typical legacy RAID 5 flash systems. With FlexiRemap, data is protected, drive endurance is improved, and random-access speed is accelerated.
The NeoSapphire 3605 and NeoSapphire 3611 allow for more flexible storage capacity planning and budgeting, with their support for thin provisioning. Thin provisioning keeps physical storage needs to a minimum at the initial deployment stage, avoiding the need to add storage hardware until it is really required. In addition, zero-page deduplication purges empty pages to save valuable flash capacity.
