New range of external storage delivers 3TB capacity to digital generation
14 August, 2012, Neuss - Toshiba Europe GmbH (TEG), Storage Peripheral Division, has today announced a new range of USB 3.0 desktop external hard drives (HDDs) to meet the ever expanding storage needs of the digital generation. With 3TB[1] of capacity, the STOR.E CANVIO Desktop HDD[2] provides more than enough room for even the most data hungry consumer[3]. Its 5.0 Gbps interface transfer rate and full system back up offers a stylish practical storage solution, ideal for those looking for a storage boost for their digital libraries.
With the average person downloading 17GB data month (204GB) a year in the UK alone, it's essential those irreplaceable photos and favourite movies are backed up. The new STOR.E CANVIO Desktop range is capable of storing up to 524,288 hi-res digital photos, 786, 432 digital music files, or 748 HD movies[4].
As well as the highest capacities on the market, the STOR.E CANVIO Desktop range offers blazing fast data transfer times. The 5.0 Gbps interface transfer rate combined with 3.0 USB technology provides super-fast performance for both data transfer and back-up for even the largest files. In addition to this, its smart power control still reduces power consumption to ensure economical use.
Not only this, but the STOR.E CANVIO Desktop range offers one of the simplest plug and play, add-on storage solutions in the market. With its simple to use interface and quick start guide, even the least tech-savvy consumers will have it up and running straight away. Like all Toshiba storage devices the STOR.E CANVIO Desktop range will work seamlessly with all PC and Mac based computing devices and is still compatible with USB 2.0.
For that added piece of mind, the STOR.E CANVIO Desktop comes with pre-loaded NTI® Backup Now EZTM software for the PC enabling users to back-up data to the cloud as well. This easy to use software helps select the best storage option, whether it's HDD, PC and in the cloud or all three[5].

The sleek fan-less design minimises noise and is available in both ‘White and Black' and ‘Black and Black' designs. The design is small and compact, supporting both horizontal and vertical orientation saving precious desk space. The HDD range will be available in 3TB, 2TB and 1TB from August 2012.
