PRESS RELEASE
diskAshur DT from iStorage provides ultimate data protection and mobility combining hardware encryption & PIN code access with USB 3.0 connectivity and 3TB capacity
iStorage, a leading specialist in portable storage and digital encryption, has announced the availability of the diskAshur DT®, the world's first portable 3.5" hard drive with military grade hardware encryption and PIN code access. SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connectivity and capacities of up to three terabytes (3TB) offer individuals and businesses a robust and powerful solution to ensuring data security.
diskAshur DT utilises military grade AES 256-bit hardware encryption to encrypt all data in real time and a wear-resistant keypad with 6-16 digit PIN activation to secure data against hacking attacks and keylogger attempts. Its rugged aluminium casing and tamper-resistant epoxy-coated circuitry offers protection from physical attacks, while diskAshur DT further protects against brute force attacks with self-destruct mechanisms to prevent unlawful data access.
diskAshur DT security features:
- Military grade protection -FIPS PUB 19 validated AES 256-bit hardware encryption
- 6-16 digit PIN code access -Up-to 16-digit password with wear-resistant keypad
- SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connection -Up to 5Gbps, 10-times faster than USB 2.0
- Brute force self-destruct -Three-pronged approach to prevent brute force attacks
- Tamper resistant -Epoxy resin destroys circuit board components if tampered with
- Mass storage -Available in 1TB, 2TB and 3TB data capacity options
- Aluminium casing -Strong and durable casing allows heat to safely dissipate
diskAshur DT also includes Variable Time Circuit technology to protect data against hacking attempts by preventing ‘timing attacks' based on user behaviour. It also includes an auto lock feature that locks the hard drive if unattended for a pre-determined amount of time and enables IT departments to create administrator access to the drive independent of the user password and create up to 10 user PIN codes.
The importance of securing data on storage devices remains a priority for individuals, public sector organisations and businesses alike. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has the power to fine organisations up to £500,000 for serious breaches of the Data Protection Act. In an era of widely publicised cases of mislaid unencrypted hard drives containing confidential data, cyber security ranks as one of UK industry's most prominent issues.
John Michael, Managing Director of iStorage, commented, "Data security remains of paramount importance for organisations and individuals, especially in light of the ICO's powers to fine those guilty of serious Data Protection Act breaches. diskAshur DT's integrated digital and physical security functionality including real time AES 256-bit hardware encryption, 6-16 digit PIN access, onboard keypad and brute force hack defence mechanisms, deliver peace of mind for those looking for an ultra-secure mass storage solution."
diskAshur DT is available in three capacities of 1TB, 2TB and 3TB at £179, £199 and £279 (ex. VAT) respectively, and is fully compatible with Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac computers and Linux without the need for any software installation or drivers.diskAshur DT mass storage portable hard drives also have a three year warranty making them a highly reliable investment.
The diskAshur DT is the world's first portable military grade FIPS PUB 19 validated hard drive with real-time AES 256-bit hardware encryption, PIN code access, capacities of up to 3TB and USB 3.0.
