PRESS RELEASE

London, UK, 29th April: IOCELL Networks, a leader in Network Storage, is proud to announce the availability of its latest external hard drive enclosure, the innovative NetDISK 351UNE, in the UK. This unique external enclosure offers a distinctively varied range of connectivity options, providing the plug-and-play benefits of USB 2.0, the high speed data transfer rates of eSATA and the unparalleled accessibility of a Gigabit Ethernet connection.

The NetDISK 351UNE enclosure incorporates award winning NDAS technology, offering instant network storage for everyone on a network via its Gigabit Ethernet connection. Data can therefore be transferred wirelessly using a WiFi router - and because NDAS uses a direct network connection, there are no complicated IP addresses or routing tables to configure. NDAS technology also enables seamless switching between connection modes; a drive mounted via an eSATA cable can be switched to a network connection without any changes to the disk's file system. With a standard NAS system, this simply isn't possible.

The NetDISK 351UNE uses a unique hardware ID and access key, which permits users to specify which computers on the network have read, write or no access. This means the drive remains hidden to standard network traffic, ensuring your data's safety from external hackers. Instead, transparent software enables the disk to appear as a local disk, no matter what connection is being used - as a result, the NetDISK 351UNE is perfect for use in the home or small office, as well as for sharing files between multiple family computers.

Used in a SOHO scenario, the NetDISK 351UNE enables the ability to work collaboratively on shared spreadsheets and documents, as well as providing a single point of backup for important files. Its size and triple interface also makes it ideal for off-site backup, as at the end of each day the enclosure can be slipped into a bag and taken offsite.

As a home network device, the NetDISK 351UNE forms a central hub for your family network, enabling the sharing of music, photos or movies via a single unified library across multiple computers, as well as storing backups of important files in one central location.

The NetDISK 351UNE can also operate in a multi-disk configuration; by connecting multiple drives on one network it can aggregate two to eight drives into one spanned unit.

"IOCELL Networks' NDAS technology is a superior network storage solution for the next generation," stated John Park, CEO of IOCELL Networks. "The NetDISK 351UNE is equipped with a new and improved gigabit interface, and is the world's first and only solution that provides high performance, simplicity and advanced features to enrich and modernize digital life in the home or office. We call it, ‘The New Fast.'"

The NetDISK 351UNE is available now as an enclosure only at a suggested retail price of £69.99.

The NetDISK 351UNE's specifications at a glance are as follows:

  • Direct connection to the drive using the Ethernet cable
  • Gigabit Ethernet connection enabling around 60 MB per second transfer
  • File protection with the enclosed sync and backup software
  • Easy Setup for USB or eSATA plug and play
  • Easy installation without the need to configure an IP address
  • Compatible with wireless routers
  • Hack proof, due to a no-IP direct connection
