TESCO INCREASES ROLL OUT OF SOFTWARE TO MEET INCREASING DEMAND

UK’s leading supermarket strengthens relationship with Formjet

The roll-out of the successful Tesco Software range steps up a pace this month with more than 200 new Tesco stores scheduled to have product on shelves by July 18th.

Launched to much acclaim in October 2006, the Tesco Software range was initially introduced in 150 stores around the UK. Since then 25,000 titles have been sold, and in response to demand, Tesco has increased the total number of stores to 365.

Of the six products in the range, Tesco Antivirus has, to date, been the best seller followed by Tesco Internet Security and Tesco Complete Office. The software has been developed for Tesco by Formjet, a specialist in alternative software solutions, who also provide a comprehensive support service.

To coincide with the increase in availability, Tesco Software titles will be included in the store’s new Back to School special offer targeting over four million customers, allowing them to buy one and get one free. The products have been snapped up by schools and colleges, as well as individual home users.

Tesco is working with Formjet to develop new software titles to add to its range later in the year.

Commenting on the software range Tesco Buyer Daniel Cook said “Demand for home computing equipment is bigger than ever, which is why we decided to launch a choice of great value Tesco own range software equipment.

We're delighted that the range has proved such a hit, and in response to this demand we're increasing the total number of stores where customers can pick up the popular software."
