PRESS RELEASE

Norton Mobile Security available with all Android handset purchases

Reading, UK - 24 May, 2012 - Norton by Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced a partnership agreement with Carphone Warehouse.  Under the terms of the agreement, Carphone Warehouse will offer Norton's award-winning Norton Mobile Security* throughout its footprint of over 800 stores across the UK.

The agreement sees Norton Mobile Security offered along with every new Android handset purchased at Carphone Warehouse. Norton Mobile Security provides Android customers with protection and security for their mobile devices and the personal information that is saved and stored on them. The technology features remote locate, lock and wipe to secure the device, if it is stolen, plus call and text blocker and anti-phishing web protection to protect against the growing number of mobile threats and scams.  The findings from Symantec's recent Internet Security Threat Report (ISTR) show that mobile vulnerabilities increased by 93 per cent in 2011.

Simon Ellson,  Senior Director, Consumer Sales, Norton commented, "Consumers are familiar with protecting their PC or laptop, but with the growing number of phones used to access the internet for online banking and social media, as well as storing personal details and photos, it is imperative that they protect their mobile devices too. Our new partnership with Europe's largest mobile reseller, Carphone Warehouse, will put industry leading Norton protection on every new Android handset sold, making it easier than ever to protect the Stuff that matters."

René Wright, Carphone Warehouse, Group Head of Content, commented that choosing Norton as its strategic partner in the security sector is the best option for their customers. "At Carphone Warehouse our responsibility to the customer goes way beyond the devices and services that we offer them in store.  Part of our value-add is offering them access to the kind of protection that is essential in the modern landscape of increasing and varied threats.  In Norton we have a partner that has the same values as ours in terms of exemplary customer service and one that offers protection across the entire eco system represented through the product range. We are looking forward to offering further choice and applications to protect and secure our customers with Norton."

From 28 May 2012 Norton Mobile Security will be available in UK stores and cost £14.99 when purchased with an Android handset.

NB.  MSRP for Norton Mobile Security is £29.99
