PRESS RELEASE

Instant data access to Apple’s HFS+ and Microsoft’s exFAT, NTFS, FAT32-formatted removable storage on Android systems

Freiburg, Germany – April 26, 2018 – Paragon Software, a leading file system and storage management expert, and Lonely Cat Games, a mobile application and games developer, announce a partnership with the release of X-plore 4.0, the industry’s first mobile file manager to support removable storage media formatted with any of four top file systems: exFAT, NTFS, FAT32, and HFS+ on Android systems. Likewise, Microsoft exFAT/NTFS for USB On-the-Go by Paragon Software now supports the X-plore 4.0 file manager app, enabling Android users to perform advanced file management options on smartphone and tablet devices.

With over 11 million downloads, the feature-packed X-plore is one of the market-leading file managers for Android. By using X-plore, mobile device owners can access remote files not only in the cloud, but also on LAN storage. X-plore can display shared folders on other computers in a local area network, or access files stored on various cloud servers. The latest release delivers additional data storage options for X-plore users, such as instant access to USBs and other removable storage media formatted with the most popular Windows and Mac file system formats connected to mobile devices via USB OTG. The integrated exFAT/NTFS for USB technology enables instant access to HFS+, exFAT, NTFS, or FAT32-formatted removable storage media on smartphones, tablets, or Android TVs.

"Paragon’s File System Link technology fills a functionality gap on Android by providing support for all popular file systems used by removable storage devices, such as SD cards, HDD, USB sticks connected via USB OTG, and others not natively supported by Android," said Michal Bačík, CEO of Lonely Cat Games. “Android users can now use mobile devices for more advanced tasks requiring external storage formatted NTFS or exFAT, for example. X-plore does not natively support such file systems, so with the help of Microsoft exFAT/NTFS for USB by Paragon Software, our app now offers a more complete customer experience.”

The new edition of Microsoft exFAT/NTFS for USB by Paragon Software now also integrates support for X-plore, allowing users access to even more advanced file management options. Microsoft exFAT/NTFS for USB has been fully integrated into the native user interface of both Android apps. “We are happy to provide our customers with X-plore’s feature-rich file management support, offering them the most advanced options,” said Konstantin Komarov, CEO of Paragon Software. “The developer kit provided by Google enabled our engineers and Lonely Cat Games to fully integrate Microsoft exFAT/NTFS for USB technology into the X-plore file manager in just a couple weeks’ time. We are very happy about the opportunity to provide X-plore users with direct access to removable storage media formatted with all popular file system formats via our app.”
