04th January 2006 – ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUS) today introduces the EN7800GT TOP Silent graphics card, which adopts the powerful Nvidia® GeForce® 7800GT GPU and the innovative SilentCool fan-less thermal technology.

The EN7800 GT Top Silent offers industry leading specifications, with a GPU clock of 420MHz (Compared to 400MHz offered by other 7800 solutions) 1.6ns DDR3 memory (compared with 2.0ns DDR3 found in the market). In addition the memory is clocked at 620MHz x 2 compared to 500MHz x 2 with other 7800 solutions.

The EN7800 GT Top Silent is available to buy now from ebuyer retailing at £285 ex VAT.

Following the success of the multi award winning EN7800GTX TOP and EN7800GT DUAL limited edition (dual-CPU solution), the EN7800GT TOP Silent brings a peaceful and quiet solution, enhancing the high quality video and gaming experience further.

Noise-less cooling

Robust systems require effective cooling to maintain computing stability. Unfortunately, entertainment applications which utilise powerful graphic cards are also the most GPU-resource hungry and raise GPU temperature significantly. The noisy cooling fans may lower system temperature but affects the overall audio/video experience on PCs.

With its exhilarating video performance, the EN7800GT TOP Silent allows for quiet operation. The ASUS-developed SilentCool includes the large heatsink design, which increases the heat exchange area for absorbing heat away from the GPU. The hidden heat pipe and stacked fins, both made of copper (a very effective heat conductor), then transfer heat away from the heatsink, for efficient cooling. The GPU temperature is 40˚C lower compared with other thermal solutions from competing graphics cards.

Rotating fins

The copper fins are positioned on a unique joint design, which enables the fins to rotate 90˚. Depending on the locations of critical components such as the CPU, mosfets or capacitors etc., users can rotate the fins away from these areas for optimal heat dissipation. An additional cooling module attached to the heatsink extends to the exterior of the PC, lowering the GPU temperature by another 6˚C.

Unlike competing solutions, the new ASUS graphics card adopts industry-leading specifications.
