The FSP82 uses the well known and unique I- STORM adapter, which is located between the fan and the heatsink. The adapter’s function is to guide and disperse the airflow towards the centre of the heatsink and therefore increases the level of efficiency of the cooler. Furthermore the I-STORM adapter enables the usage of an 80 mm fan on a 70 mm heatsink. The increase in performance of this cooling solution is minus 2°C which enables a reduction in the fan speed. The result is lower noise disturbance.

The FSP82 heatsink is made of aluminium and features small fins, which in turn provide a larger surface area for heat dissipation. The ball bearing transparent fan measures 80 x 80 x 25 mm and rotates with a speed of nearly 2700 rpm with a noise level of 29 dB. The transparent design allows for excellent effects if an illuminated device is installed in the system.

The package includes clear instructions for installation, a GLOBAL WIN case badge and a high grade silver-thermal pad which is located below the heatsink. The FSP82 uses a 3-point retention clip which ensures a smooth and safe installation.

The FSP82 supports Socket A (AMD Duron, Athlon, up to Athlon XP 2800+) and Socket FC-PGA (Pentium III and Celeron) systems.

About the I-STORM adapter



‘Nothing and something thrive on each other’ ‘Movement and motionless rely on each other’



The most important feature of the I-STORM adapter is the patented intelligent S-shape flow guide situated at the centre of the adapter which divides the circle into two parts; Yin and Yang. This theory derives from Chinese Tai Chi where balance, offset and community are central to the process and where Yin and Yang are interchangeable and opposites. Both strong and weak wind flows move towards the centre of the adapter, and dissipate from the heatsink immediately. In other words, asymmetrical wind flows are generated at the centre of the heat sink and disperse the heat as soon as it arrives. The theory is when wind flow encounters the flow guide, facing the wind side, it will accelerate whereas opposite to the wind side, it will decelerate; thus the ‘unbalanced’ wind flows ensue, and heat can be dissipated effortlessly.
