Getting down to business
Microsoft is hoping businesses will warm to Windows 7 in a way they didn't with Vista. It has learnt from the experience of the Vista launch that it's hard to recover from initial negative sentiment, so it's determined to get it right this time.
Having already detailed some of the features consumers might like in his TV interviews with Parm, Windows product manager Laurence Painell spoke to HEXUS.channel about why he hopes businesses, which have predominantly remained on Windows XP, will make the move to Windows 7.
Painell introduced the SKUs, detailing the unique features for business present in the Professional and Enterprise versions.
Among the features highlighted are XP mode - introduced to pre-empt some of the compatibility issues faced by Vista - and Bit locker to go, which allows encryption of removable storage and was presumably created with public servants in mind.
