Time to keep the neighbours up
I'm a big fan of the Guitar Hero computer game series, and I was contemplating picking up Guitar Hero III...that is, until I received BigPockets.co.uk's latest mailshot.
You see, I've realised now that Guitar Hero III on the Xbox 360 retails at £69.99. BigPockets.co.uk on the other hand are offering a real guitar (i.e. one that has strings!), an amp, a "play guitar in 30 minutes" DVD and a lead all for a tidy £89.99. A little bit more expensive, but then, you are getting the real thing and you could actually learn to play an instrument.
Alternatively, you can purchase just the guitar and DVD for £59.99. The mailshot states that "most low-cost beginners guitars can feel cheap and poorly constructed, these are the exception. They are solidly built, feel great, look great and most importantly, play great". Sounds promising.
The guitar features a basswood body with a bolt on maple neck and offers 22 frets. The amp provides 10w of power, treble and bass controls and a headphone socket. Not a bad Christmas present for the kids, provided you don't mind the noise throughout the coming year!
