Another week, another sharewatch. Has a battery recall had any impact on a certain big computer firm?
Company | Listing | Share Price ($US) | 7-day change |
---|---|---|---|
AMD | AMD | 22.57 | 13.7% |
Apple | AAPL | 67.98 | 6.9% |
ATI Technologies | ATYT | 20.91 | 3.4% |
Dell | DELL | 22.73 | 7.6% |
GOOG | 387.72 | 2.9% | |
IBM | IBM | 79.09 | 4.9% |
Intel | INTC | 18.61 | 7.0% |
Microsoft | MSFT | 24.70 | 1.1% |
NVIDIA | NVDA | 27.35 | 12.4% |
It seems that despite Dell's 4 million strong battery recall, share price, looking at it week-on-week, is unscathed. However, towards close on Monday of this week a high volume of shares were traded, resulting in a drop from which Dell's share price recovered the following day. Perhaps we'll have to wait and see what the financial impact of the recall will be?
If you're interested in the shares of the company who provided the batteries to Dell - Sony - then check out their figures on Google Finance.
AMD's talk of Opteron upgrades and quad-cores, along with the imminent release of lots of AMD based Dells, has led to them having a very good week thus far.
NVIDIA's had a good week too, announcing new server and workstation chipsets, the nForce Pro 3000 range.
The best news of all, if you're naive like me, is that the entire sharewatch table is green; nobody down this week, huzzah!
