The Manager of developer relations at Sony,Mark DeLoura, has quit his post to move to a new role as the US Technical Director for Ubisoft. This has raised the question of who his replacment will be, whether it will affect developer's relationships with Sony and indeed if it will affect the launch of the PS3. DeLoura was a long standing respected member and had forged many excellent relationships with developers.
Sony have been quick to assure developers that this latest role shift won't affect their commitment to developers. Talking to Next-gen.biz , SCEA PR manager Ryan Bowling, confirmed their commitment by revealing the latest PS3 dev kit shipment figures."To date we have shipped more than 10,000 development systems to 208 companies in 11 countries, the largest number ever for a PlayStation platform."
This high-profile resignation follows on from Sony's SCEA PR chief, Molly Smith, who was brought on shortly after the launch of the Playstation One and unexpectedly resigned from her post in June.
