Since the Autumn update of the Xbox 360 dashboard, rumours have been circulating the net that some consumers have been experiencing problems with their consoles. One reason for this is the suggestion that Microsoft have released a patch that disables any chipped Xbox 360's, but other reports suggest that the problem is "conflicting with recent versions of the DVD drive firmware that works with Samsung drives."

Microsoft have now responded to the problem, but haven't shed any further light on the issue.

"We're aware that a very small number of Xbox 360 customers have been experiencing some issues with their console after the Autumn Update has been applied. We're working with each customer individually to resolve any problems. Any Xbox 360 customers who have any issues with their console should contact the customer service team on 0800 587 1102."

tbh after all the crap with pc crashes, buggy games that never get patched properly (Battlefield 2 I'm looking at you) the 360 and xbox live are like a breath of fresh air :)
it was always goign to happen, i know they are all meant to be the same machine spec wise but your always goign to get some firmwares corrupt or do odd stuff, especially if they are chipped
