LONDON, UK - November 15, 2004 - AMD (NYSE: AMD) was honoured with two awards, "Best Product: Hardware" for AMD64 technology and "Best Vendor," at the System Builder Summit Europe recently held in Dublin, Ireland. The awards reinforce AMD's position at the leading edge of processor design. System Builder Summit Europe is a gathering of approximately 150 executives from Europe's leading PC system builders who vote on the best products and top companies after previewing, reviewing and evaluating the latest technology and programs.

"These awards are a clear statement directly from our customers that AMD is providing them with the best solutions to meet the needs of the system builder market," said Doug Hooks, European marketing director, AMD. "With more than 60 awards for AMD64 technology, the System Builder Summit awards are further validation of AMD's focus on developing products, technology and programs that provide real benefits to our customers' customers."

"As the European PC channel continues to evolve, Europe's top PC assemblers continue to choose System Builder Summit as the venue for evaluating new products, service opportunities and vendor partners," said Samantha Allwork, director International, Gartner Vision Events. "This fall's awards program reflects the ongoing innovation by vendors in the PC marketplace, including the latest components and building blocks for digital home computing devices."

Based on AMD64 technology, the AMD Athlon(tm) 64 processor is the highest-performance PC processor on the market today. AMD designed the AMD Athlon 64 processor family to offer outstanding 32-bit performance today with the capability to seamlessly transition into supporting future generations of high-performance, 64-bit applications.

AMD Athlon 64 processors have the added security benefit of Enhanced Virus Protection (EVP). This capability, enabled by the newly released Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2, helps prevent the execution of certain types of malicious viruses.* The award-winning AMD64 desktop processors also feature Cool'n'Quiet(tm) technology, an innovative system-level feature that lowers the power consumption of the PC when maximum performance is not needed. A PC with AMD's Cool'n'Quiet technology enabled will consume less power, and run cooler and quieter on most applications.

AMD is currently shipping the AMD Athlon 64 processor 4000+ and AMD Athlon 64 processor FX-55 to allow leading PC companies to ship in time for the all-important holiday season.
