The benefits of music streaming

We all know that computing and networking now play a major role in many of our home music system set ups. However, when it comes to playing music back in an impressive and enjoyable way that sounds just like the original recording, most computer sound cards and speakers fall way short of even the minimum levels of true hi-fi audio quality. The ideal solution is a music player that enables music to be picked up, or streamed, from a hard drive or computer and played through a hi-fi system featuring an amplifier and speakers. Naim's portfolio includes a range of streaming music players that can be connected to hi-fi components over the home network either via hardwire Ethernet or wirelessly, giving extreme convenience and ease of use. To complete the set up, Naim's n-Stream and n-Serve apps allow you to browse your music and control your Naim devices using an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.

Next-generation sound systems

Naim's state-of-the-art and award-winning streaming music players, as well as an exclusive preview of their newest digital offering, will be on show at each of the summer roadshows demonstrating just how Naim is transforming the way music is played in the home. Products include the Naim NDX network player, Naim's first ever stand-alone streaming source, delivering genuine audiophile performance whether streaming music stored around the home, playing audio files stored on USB memory sticks or internet radio from anywhere in the world. The NDX is fully Apple authenticated enabling playback of iPad, iPod or iPhone-stored music. The Naim HDX is the ultimate digital player which can rip, store, catalogue and play your music in superb quality. The unit is controlled via the front-panel touchscreen display, remote control, PC or Mac interfaces or the n-Serve app. For streaming music throughout the home, Naim's UnitiSystem delivers on all counts. Whether it's the Naim UnitiServe which, like the HDX allows you to rip, store and share your music collection, or the NaimUniti or compact Naim UnitiQute all-in-one streaming music players which can be placed around the home to form a high-end multi-room system, Naim have the solution to all music requirements.

About Naim Audio

Naim has a passionate and committed interest in music. This is as true today as it was at the time of the company's formation in Salisbury, England, over 35 years ago. Enjoyment of music has driven Naim to design and manufacture the finest range of audio equipment available. Top engineering principles ensure that all Naim products meet and exceed the measurable parameters essential for state-of-the-art performance, safety and reliability: all essential qualities for which Naim is renowned. Measurement alone, however, is not enough: every product must also deliver the musical performance that the team could not live without.

Naim quality requires an attention to detail verging on the obsessive: a special and unique approach to component selection and system design, all within a highly specialised production environment. Every aspect of a Naim product's design has been considered for its impact on sound quality. Even small, seemingly insignificant, production techniques are used, because of the difference they make between delivering a great and an amazing sound.

Naim's toughest critics are its management and its employees. They have always believed that being honest is the only way to communicate with their customers - music lovers and numerous musicians - who regard Naim's products as having no equals in their respective classes.

Naim does not chase market fashion and will not move from its overriding objective of achieving consistent musical performance. The company has its own record label, Naim Label, which specialises in high-quality music recordings, and has moved steadily into the world of audio streaming, multi-room and in-car audio, introducing the award-winning NaimUniti all-in-one audio player and a range of multi-room audio products: NaimNet, designed to bring new customers to the Naim fold without sacrificing Naim's legendary performance. Naim also announced an exclusive partnership with Bentley Motors in 2008, with the launch of the Naim for Bentley Premium Audio System, which is available across all Bentley models.
