ITV and Channel 4 bring streaming services to PS3

Following in the footsteps of the BBC iPlayer and LOVEFiLM, Sony's PlayStation 3 is set to become host to TV on-demand services ITV Player and 4oD later this week.

According to Sony, there are approximately four million PS3 consoles in the U.K., with 80% of those connected to the internet. Alan Duncan, PlayStation's marketing director, believes that the addition of ITV Player and 4oD will bring in an extra 10% of viewers to those services.

It's also believed that Channel 4 is also in talks with Microsoft to bring the 4oD service to Xbox 360.

The services will be added to PlayStation 3 via a software update at some point this week.

Lovefilm (with subscription)
Blinkbox
Vidzone for music

Coupled with Sky Player - PC or 360 only for now, assuming you can ‘obtain’ genuine log on details ;) & every other streaming service for PC you'd be laughing! Well, almost, but for me it'd be a good start!

Awesome news, been waiting for some more content. Saves the need for a media pc really.

but sadly you need a TV license for iPlayer.

I used to use iPlayer on my PS3 Slim but a few months back it would lock up all the time.

reading that they say legally you can do it but if you do we will simply close the loop hole.
